Brief
Design, typeset and subedit the printed newsletter to be sent to over 9,000 supporters, three times a year.
Concept and processes
The newsletter was designed to be a simple but engaging read, to appeal to and provide information to a broad range of supporters and stakeholders.
I designed the newsletter for many years. In 2019, as part of a brand refresh, I created a new format that was stripped back and simple but also elegant and sympathetic, with a healthy amount of white space. This allowed the reader to fully engage with the articles. As well as designing the newsletter, I also wrote articles myself, and proofread it.
As well as the printed newsletter I designed a digtal version using Readymag. This allowed for the inclusion of audio and film content and longer articles.
To create the newsletters I used:
-
Adobe InDesign
-
Adobe Photoshop
-
Adobe Illustrator
-
Readymag
-
Mailchimp
Media
-
16-page A4 saddle-stitched magazine, folded to A5 for mailing
-
